Löa Foundry, Löa. Photo: Lisa Lager.

Löa foundry in Ramsberg parish is a
genuine mine owner's smelting house.
The mine owners owned their own
foundry and smelted the ore to iron after
drawing lots for which order to take
amongst the owners. The foundry
companionship was never dissolved so to this day there are residents in Löa
community that own shares in Löa
foundry. Today Löa has Sweden's only
foundry bailiff.

Guiding
Here you will hear stories about the toil at the roasting kiln and the important work at the charging gallery. Mixing ore, limestone and charcoal to produce iron of the best quality was an art.
There are guided tours from May until August. There is a permanent exhibition about Löa's history on display.
