At Malingsbo Manor House your thoughts are taken back to the 18th century. You can recognise the typical Karoliner style of the period with the residency roof and classical forms. The reservoirs in Hedsrömmen River remind you of the iron production that started here at the end of the 16th century with a simple hammer. In 1625 a foundry and forge were established next to the stream. |
St Anna Chappel - peace and quiet
The small white, octagonal chapel was built in 1708. You can see it on the heights as you come into the community. The church was dedicated to St Anna, the patron saint of miners. Christmas service is always well attended, so be sure to cone early. The chapel is also used for christenings, marriages and funerals.

Kornskruven - 228 openings
Aesthetic granery from 1849 that inspired textile artist Lena Langendahl to a chequered pattern. The many openings are covered by iron-shutters. These are marked with the initials AW. Anna von Wuller was the owner of Malingsbo Foundry during the 17th century. At the time of its construction the granary was the most modern to be found. The district's farmers dried their grain here and it is still possible to see the names of the families inscribed in the grain compartments. The invention that aided the airing of grain was called the corn srcew.
