Lasse-Maja trail - in the footprints of the master-thief |
| Sweden's most popular thief saw the light of day in Djupdalen in 1785, on the road to Ramsberg in Linde district. The tales told about Lasse-Maja are innumerable. There is no end of treasures he is meant to have buried in Bergslagen's forests. Disguised in skirt and scarf he embarked on series of raids. |
| Today you can follow his footsteps from Morskoga to Ösarhyttan. The trail is about 12 km long with a simple shelter and rest place at Mjugsjön Lake. At Ramsberg's library the homestead museum's brochure about the Lasse-Maja trail is available. You will also see the remains of charring stacks and the ice age's imprints on the landscape. |

| Ramsberg |
| Just to the east of Ramsberg
lies Loberget mountain. Here you will find caves and overhanging rocks
in a dramatic drop in the mountainside. From the top there is a view over
Ramsberg. The initials of the former owners of Ramsberg Foundry are carved
out in the rocks. Loberget mountain was a source of inspiration for the authoress Elsa Beskow in her book Tomtebobarnen, from 1910. She is the first major Swedish author of child literature that wrote only for children. Today her books are regarded as classical works and are still popular. |
